Terror seeks shelter in the likes of lonely souls

Finds solace in the heart that has been conditioned not to feel

In a world in which we’ve been taught to fear vulnerability and pain

We have forgotten how to communicate with love

In the midst of our pursuit for material happiness,

Our nightlights now vibrate in our pockets,

We never grew out of our dependency on outsourced comfort

Only learned how to wield it as a weapon

But we are fighting ourselves, the monsters,

Lurking in the shadows of our own screens
